- A two part project between two fantastic and unique artists. From 8-10 Kyla Tilley is a Canadian prog-folk singer-songwriter known for her emotionally turbulent live performances, her gymnastic guitar playing, and her fabulous shoe collection. Using whatever words she likes, Kyla constructs tales true and tall of fantastic exploits, mundane tasks, and moderate misadventure which she delivers with a mix of vocal fusillades, chaotic finger-picking, and kaleidoscopic rhythms. Twelve such songs can be found on Kyla’s sophomore album Bloom & Grow. A mercurial collection of songs about personal growth, self-acceptance, and the obstacles that get in the way of an individual’s desire to leave something of themselves for the ages. Kyla lives in a small town in Newfoundland and Labrador where you will find her strolling on the beach, hiking in the woods, and broadcasting glimpses into her songwriting sessions live on Twitch, where her stalwart followers are encouraged to heckle, cheer, and distract, as Kyla wrestles words, cajoles melodies, and hammers out guitar parts. From 10-12am Paul has had an ear for staying melodies from an early age, developing a love for music when he was about four years old after hearing the greats like The Beatles, B. B. King and Roy Orbison on bootleg tapes in the USSR. He got accepted in the specialist music school at the age of six, where he studied accordion, piano, music theory, and vocals and played in a folk orchestra. Staying true to his affection for Western music, Cafcae picked up the guitar while attending high school in Maryland, USA. It was around this time that he began experimenting with writing his own material and went on to play in bands in Europe and North America. Upon moving to Canada in 2009 Paul continued his journey into Americana and Roots by releasing new music, touring, and performing at festivals. Experimenting with songs to establish his unique style, Cafcae has finally found his home with his latest LP “Where I Am,” a place he belongs: in a raw, optimistic roots rock roadhouse, soaked in blues, rockabilly and folk music. Cafcae blends Americana music with Slavic lyricism and expressive imagery, revitalising traditional roots music with an injection of east-European folk. With a bright, entertaining presence Paul creates memorable experiences for his audiences. Cafcae’s songs are heard on radio stations all over the world. “I Ain’t Shook” from his album “Where I Am” has peaked at #11 in the UK’s Hot Disk Country Top 40, and staying in the chart for 17 weeks. His music videos have repeatedly won Best Music Video awards at international film festivals. In 2022 Paul was nominated as Artist of The Year by Folk Music Ontario.
